Have you ever misplaced something you use every day? It seems as if it is lost but in truth, it is somewhere! You ask “where are you?” but there is no answer. You may stumble upon it at a later date or have already replaced it when suddenly you remember where you put it! The point being, no earnest question goes unanswered forever. If it means something to us, it is active in our subjective mind. If we relax and go on with our life, it has the space to work its way to the surface of awareness.
Ernest Holmes, the founder of the School of Science of Mind, referred to this attitude as a “divine shrug of the shoulders.” He said we ought to feel about anything “fine if it does, fine if it doesn’t.” This is not so much passive as it is a trust in the inner workings of consciousness. If it is important to my well-being, it will reveal itself.
Humanity is asking the big question right now. Where is God? Why does God not intervene and stop the violence and madness? How did we lose our way? The answer is actually already here. It is in the awareness that God is within each of us. The very source of all we desire lives in the realm of the quantum field of potential. We have all the answers if we ask the right questions, such as:
How are we to live together in peace, plenty and love? How can we celebrate diversity and share our resources? How will we create freedom and justice for all? Most importantly, what is mine to do? What part do I play in my world? Have I lost my faith in humanity? How can I restore my trust? How shall I activate my own peace, love and joy? How shall I celebrate diversity and initiate change?
