Ask a Border Patrol Agent If There's an Invasion at the Border
by John Lawrence, February 25, 2019
As an Uber and Lyft driver, I get to meet and talk to a lot of interesting people like the Border Patrol agent I picked up yesterday. He said the largest number of illegals crossing the border are Indians. Next are Chinese, but there are people from all over the world, Syria, for example, trying to get into the US. Whereas it used to be a trickle, now it's a flood. He said the Chinese pay 20 to 30 grand to a smuggler to get them in. If they catch them, we the taxpayers have to pay for a flight back to China for them. As for the Latin American and South American people, males are immediately deported. They can't just cross and seek asylum. Females with children seeking asylum are given a court date way off in the future because the courts are so overloaded, handed $20 and turned out to the streets. Most of them never show up for their court dates and simply melt into American society like they've been doing for years.
Why aren't the Congress persons and the media interviewing actual border patrol agents who are the boots on the ground with regard to the illegal immigrant situation? Why not get real information instead of fake news and fake imaginings from both sides. Is it an "invasion"? Depends on your definition of invasion. Is more than a trickle an invasion? Are hundreds of people trying to cross the border in a single day and seeking asylum an invasion? Each side in this situation has their own probably unverified position. Trump has a point that many people are trying to cross the border illegally, many more than used to do it, and they're all seeking asylum, that is the ones that get caught. If they don't get caught, they just melt into American society. As of the present time, if you're a male seeking asylum, forget it. You'll be deported immediately according to the agent I picked up.
That's why males trying to enter the country are going to places where the border security is weak like the mountains and the desert and are just trying to cross undetected. The border patrol agent related a story about three Chinese who were being smuggled in secret compartments in a truck. Their plan was to get out just before the border checkpoint at San Clemente and then cross over the mountains through Camp Pendleton. Their plan would have worked except for the fact that on that particular day the Marines were conducting artillery practice right in that location. The Chinese guys, not wanting to get shot, turned themselves in, and there went $20,000 to $30,000 a person down the drain. American taxpayers paid for them to be deported to China. At that rate human smuggling is much more profitable than smuggling cocaine, and the penalties are less severe if the smuggler is caught.
So the problem is not that MS13 gangs are getting into the US. The problem is that people from all over the world who have access to the internet and realize what glorious lives Americans live in comparison to their pathetic lives in whatever as Trump said "shithole" country they're from, they're willing to risk everything to come here. People are on the move all over the world to get into some advanced country in either the US, Canada or Europe in order to have a better life. They are all refugees in a sense. Many are from war torn parts of the world, but many are simply economic refugees seeking a better life. Maybe the US and Europe should be doing something about improving conditions for the poor all over the world and not just supporting right wing dictators which is the neocon policy of guys like Bolton and Pompeo. The economic divide is growing wider all over the world, not just here in the US.
