When Descartes said “I think, therefore I am” he got it backwards. It ought to be “I am, therefore I think.” But no one knows how. No one knows how matter becomes conscious or how consciousness becomes matter, but we live with the truth of it all the time. Our lives are proof that matter is conscious and that consciousness takes form.
Ideas shape our reality. Our everyday experience is a moving picture of ideas that are in temporary form. They are the past revealed. What if we, who are conscious, decided to reshape our reality with some new ideas? Would we want things to be a little better, somewhat improved or would we go for a real transformation? My sense is that we all think too small, too locally, hold too narrow a view of what is possible.
As we move out of the calendar year into a blank slate, as it were, what would we like to see in our world? Can we begin to imagine it? See it in our mind? What if we could get together and vision a world that is a joy to experience for all of humanity? We do not need to see the details. We need to feel the energy. Our part is to live, right now, as if it were already so. The energy of joy, of celebration, can be brought up from the depths of our consciousness at any time. Those energies are qualities of Being inherent in us. We do not create joy and love and peace. We live them. Let’s do what we can today to raise the level of expectation for our world. Let’s proclaim our joy and let it be seen.
