During the night, while we slept, fingernails grew, as did our hair. Cells renewed, blood flowed, hearts beat, skin replaced, digestion worked, bacteria did its thing to keep us healthy, the brain collated information, and a thousand tiny functions we cannot name. Our very first thought every morning ought to be Gratitude. And awe and wonder. And amazement. But no, we often forget the miracle that we are and the Love and Intelligence that is recreating us in its image and likeness.
Here we are, ready to express the Best of Us once again today. We are equipped to do what our mind can believe, our heart can support and our body can carry out. For me, today, I am able to continue the process of packing up my home. My body is strong and healthy. My mind is clear and peaceful. My heart is joyful and glad. My soul is relieved! Now she is on the right track, I imagine it is shouting. I am grateful for its promptings to get back to work!
I know people who say they cannot think of anything to be grateful about. Really? How about being alive? How about the air you breathe and the love you have known and the smell of coffee and the baby who smiled at you in the grocery store? There is always much to lift our spirits if we allow it, but the fact of our human body is one that ought to be praised every morning, first thing.
Affirm this: “I love my body. It is my temporary home. It is a perfectly functioning expression of Love and Intelligence. I am grateful for how effortlessly it responds to my commands. Thank you. You are a perfect vehicle for my soul to be seen and known.”
Stay tuned in,
