One of the best kept secrets in modern New Thought spirituality is the power of denial. We hear so much about being positive, but can denial be a form of affirmation? Yes, in the sense that we completely deny the entrance of, for example, dis-ease into our awareness. We affirm health by denying the truth of disease. For example: Speaking to a temporary manifestation of illness: “you have no place in me. You are no-thing. I deny your existence as anything other than a limited idea.” Or regarding our income: “there is no such thing as Lack or struggle in Spirit. I prosper mightily as Spirit intends.”
We do not deny the fact or the experience. We deny its ability to replicate itself one more minute without our agreement. We strongly disagree! We believe in the constant flow of Good becoming more Good in every area of our life. We deny the old notions of an avenging or punishing God. We deny a God that teaches lessons. We deny a God that is separate from us in anyway whatsoever. We affirm the Presence of the power that Makes All Things New as being right here, right now, within our own field of consciousness.
That is the awareness that keeps us stayed on the Good the True and the Beautiful. This is the affirmation that always follows a strong denial.
