Ernest Holmes, the great 20th century spiritual master, said that happiness comes when we no longer look at the past with anxiety nor imagine the future with uncertainty. To arrive at such a mental resting place would take an intellectual and emotional perception of oneself as an immortal soul on a journey through time and space, and a feeling of the Source constantly revealing itself through our personal experience, as we expect it to be.
What do we expect the Source to be by means of us? Struggle and pain? Fear and loathing? Regret and resentments? Or do we see it as revealing love and peace, health and wealth, joy and creativity? Since It cannot see us as separate from Itself, It can only bring forth our most energized thoughts. We can take a simple inventory by watching our inner dialogue.. What is active in me? What do I return to again and again as possible?
Habits can be changed. Mental habits can be erased and replaced by simply deciding to entertain thoughts that are above and beyond the already manifested reality. What we see now is not the whole Truth, not what is possible. What we see now is merely the ashes of an old fire that burned in us by means of our attention and energy. We can choose how to think, what to think, and it has nothing to do with what anybody else believes!
Spiritually aware people are warriors in a sense. We stay out of the collective conversation of gloom and doom and attend to our interior life with care. We are in training and we know it. When Life challenges us, we know what to do. We pull out the “big guns” of a renewed mind and a cheerful heart. We turn to the Source and announce its power over any outer condition. There is nothing to fear.
Stay tuned in,
